It shows a drop of 32.7% in the number of people aged 18-24 who are claiming Jobseekers Allowance. The total number of JSA claimants for the city also dropped by 15.2% compared with this time last year.
Iain Stewart, MP for Milton Keynes South, said: “I am pleased that Milton Keynes is living up to its reputation as the best place to lead the country out of economic difficulties. The feedback that I have received recently from local businesses is that trading conditions are improving.
“Of course, we cannot be complacent as there is still room for improvement, particularly with youth unemployment. However, I am glad that more employers are locating their businesses in our city and those already here are considering expanding."
