MP joins networking event at Pancake Race

Samantha Tomlin, who runs HR consultancy Red Apple, was keen to entice other like-minded business people to show off the picturesque North Bucks  market town.

She decided that there would be no better day to do so than on the day of the town’s annual Pancake Race, believed to be one of the oldest in the world. Tradition declares it was first run in 1445, a 415-yard dash from the Bull Hotel to the Parish Church of St.Peter & St. Paul.

Samantha hosted a Networking Pancake Lunch, where local business people met to discuss business and enjoy some home-made pancakes.

MP Mark Lancaster, who represents the Milton Keynes North East constituency, took time out to visit the event and is pictured with local businesswomen. The event also raised £70 for the Spinal Injuries Association, whose head office is in Milton Keynes.

She said: “My work is all about supporting business and I am lucky enough to do that from Olney, so this is my way of putting Olney on the map as well as supporting an excellent charity.”
