The former director general of the Confederation of British Industry and minister of state for UK Trade & Investment has accepted an invitation to give the lecture, which will take place at University Centre Milton Keynes on December 8.
MKBLP chairman Philip Smith said: “Our plan is to make this the first of what we hope will be an annual event giving us the chance to listen to some of the UK’s most dynamic and charismatic speakers.”
The lecture is sponsored by business advisers PricewaterhouseCoopers and will be in aid of the Helena Kennedy Foundation. The event is by invitation only for 100 guests from the business, civic and academic communities.
Lord Jones’ theme will be: ‘People who are skilled to face the challenges of globalisation make a safer society.”
