Leading figures back “exciting” Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards

Milton Keynes Council, growth delivery agency the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership and MP Iain Stewart have backed the competition, which aims to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the best in local business.

SEMLEP chair Dr Ann Limb (pictured) described the awards as “an exciting initiative”.

SEMLEP has confirmed its formal support of the competition, as has Milton Keynes Council.

Dr Limb added: “We are delighted to be supporting these new awards, an exciting initiative that will promote entrepreneurship across Milton Keynes and recognise and reward the diverse range of talent that thrives in this city.”

The MKBAA are open to any business with an MK postal code irrespective of size, turnover or number of employees.

Full details on all the categories involved, together with booking details for the gala dinner, can be found on the website www.mkbaa.co.uk

Mr Stewart, MP for Milton Keynes South, has also thrown his support behind the Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards.

He said: “I am very pleased to be supporting the MKBAA 2014. I am proud to represent a constituency which is a hub for businesses big and small.

“For years the businesses of Milton Keynes have had the ambition and drive to take the city forward. We have consistently led the country in terms of economic growth; we have one of the lowest unemployment rates in the UK and investment in the city continues to grow.

“MKBAA will give local businesses the recognition and congratulations they deserve.”

  • The awards dinner will be a black tie event held on March 20 at the DoubleTree by Hilton at stadium:mk. Net proceeds from the event will go to a business fund to be administered by the MK Community Foundation.
