The pub is a listed building which dates back to the Domesday Book and, because of its historical significance, restoration work took place in partnership with English Heritage to ensure that none of the original features were lost.
Licensee Tyrone Bentham is planning a series of events for 2013, including a second fund-raising event in aid of the Fire Fighters Charity to thank the local fire service whose hard work and quick response contained the fire and prevented any casualties during last year’s blaze.
He said: “It has been a fantastic team effort over the last 12 months to continue to trade and provide the sort of drinking and dining experience The Swan has become famous for.”
The Swan is owned by the Charles Wells Pub Company, based in Bedford.
