Golfers brave the elements

The winning team from Buckingham-based Pilbro Tax & Accounting enjoyed a clean sweep of the major trophies as team members Kevin Schofield (pictured with Chamber chief executive Rita Spada) and Jamie Taylor also received the prizes for nearest the pin and longest drive respectively.

Ten teams of four braved the elements to enjoy the 18-hole competition and presentation dinner.

Rita said: “These type of social events are a great way for businesses to network and meet other local companies. It is reasonably competitive as everyone would like to have that trophy displayed in their office for the next year but primarily it is a way of bringing organisations together in a sporting way.”

Prizes were sponsored by a number of local companies including Coca Cola Enterprises, BMI Healthcare and business advisers Grant Thornton and MacIntyre Hudson.

Items in the competitors’ goody bags were donated by BRI, Pilbro Tax & Accounting and Admiral Business Systems.
