The MK Gateway aims to take over part of the role of the Milton Keynes Economy and Learning Partnership and Innovation and Growth team, both of which ceased in September.
It will also take over some services provided by business support organisation Business Link, which was due to end on November 1.
The gateway has been developed by University Centre Milton Keynes in collaboration with the council, MKELP and business. It has opened a new innovation centre at UCMK in Central Milton Keynes.
The university is working with business, professional services and banks to set up a network of enterprise support. MK Gateway employs three part-time consultants: former MKELP chief executive Colin Fox, Liz Gifford and Sandra Overbury.
- MK Executive Action is a training and self-help group for executives, managers and professionals who are actively looking for work or facing redundancy and unemployment.
Currently based at the University Centre Milton Keynes, the group has run seminars on interview skills, CVs, money matters, Linked-In, gaining an interim appointment and starting a business.
It is keen to develop theproject and islooking for businesses which:
· Could help by hosting a session;
· Could offer a speaker/expertise;
· Would like to know more about the project.
