Firm wins sound contract for shipping industry conference

D8 Worldwide Solutions has been asked for the second year running to supply audio-visual systems and technical support to the world ferry and shipping industry’s leading event.

The Ferry Shipping Conference 2015 will be on board P&O’s Pride of Rotterdam (pictured) between April 21 and 23, with the vessel sailing from Rotterdam to Hull and back during the event.

D8 Worldwide Solutions, based at the Scott Bader Innovation Centre at Woollaston, has worked with P&O for the last five years providing audio visual to ferries.

D8 Worldwide Solutions technical director Dan Puttnam said: “We are proud to be once again supplying the most important meeting in the international ferry and shipping industry. We are also thrilled to be continuing our successful relationship with P&O.

“We believe our success is down to a firm commitment to our proud discipline of planning, organising, securing and managing resources to meet project goals and objectives.”

To complement the existing installed sound, lighting and video system, the audio-visual specialist will supply additional 60-inch plasma screens and control, extra loudspeakers and processing, lighting and radio microphones. A team of technicians will be on hand to manage proceedings.

The contract win represents the culmination of a busy period for D8 Worldwide Solutions, with recent work including sourcing a wireless streaming camera for a Caribbean cruise ship delivered within three days.

The company has also just installed hearing equipment at several UK theatres, worked at a glitzy awards ceremony in London as well as at the BBC Radio 2 Christmas Concert.
