Exhibition will help firms to realise their potential

THERE Is definitely an air of confidence among firms in Milton Keynes. The local economy is continuing to perform strongly, more firms are feeling re-energised and are now in a stronger position to grow their business and over £79 million in government funding has been allocated to improve the infrastructure, transport and skills in the South East Midlands area.

Even our own Quarterly Economic Survey for Q4 2014 indicates that firms are optimistic about their prospects for 2015.

The independent survey reveals that 92% of manufacturers and 90% of those in the service sector who responded to the study expect turnover to improve in 2015. It also states 98% of service sector respondents forecast their workforce to increase or stay the same.

Furthermore, the report also makes it clear that firms’ investment intentions are at positive levels.

Growing firms are a vital driver to the economy’s success so it is crucial that the business support mechanisms are in place to help companies unlock their potential.

They may seek to increase sales to existing and new customers, improve or develop products and services or break into new foreign markets as part of their strategy for business growth and increasing their competitiveness.

Networking, profile-raising, developing new and enhancing current skills and knowledge and applying for funding are just some of the ways of achieving this.

So how can Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce help businesses to fulfil their aspirations?

Our inaugural Business Exhibition on February 20 provides the ideal opportunity for companies of all sizes to develop their business.

The free to attend event at the Novotel Milton Keynes hotel allows businesses to forge new contacts, discover new suppliers or clients, increase their company profile and enhance their knowledge via our 60 Minute Seminars on topical business subjects.

Our two seminars are free and focus on generating more leads for business and engaging website visitors.

Aside from the exhibition, the Chamber offers support on export issues and a comprehensive programme of scheduled courses and tailored workshops to meet companies’ training needs.

As you can see, the exhibition is more than just a networking event and companies can benefit in more ways than one. Businesses are gearing up for a busy year in 2015. We look forward to seeing you at our Business Exhibition.
