Entry deadline looms for Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards

 

 

Entries for the awards, presented by Milton Keynes Business Leaders Partnership and marketing agency Interdirect, are already coming in from businesses of all sizes across the city.
 
The best in business will be recognised and celebrated at a black tie awards evening on March 20 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at stadiummk.
 
The evening will be hosted by BBC presenter Bill Turnbull.
 
Entries are open online for the 10 award categories until the deadline of February 16. The categories cover a wide spectrum of businesses and many local companies have already expressed an interest in entering.
 
The categories are:
• Community Impact
• Construction and Built Environment
• Design and Creativity
• Enterprise and Innovation
• Environmental and Corporate Sustainability
• Hospitality and Leisure
• International Trade
• Logistics and Distribution
• Professional Practice
• Retail Business
 
There is also an award for the overall ‘Business of the Year’ to be chosen by the judging panel from among the winners of the 10 categories.
 
MKBLP chairman Philip Smith said: “Local businesses are doing outstanding work by providing goods, services, employment and training opportunities for this city while supporting the regional and national economy.
 
“These awards will raise awareness of the extraordinary talent we have and I urge all local businesses to prepare and submit their entries as soon as possible.”
 
The awards have attracted support from some of the leading organisations in Milton Keynes.
 
Headline sponsors are law firm Shakespeares LLP, University Campus Milton Keynes and Casino MK.
 
Sponsors of the award categories include Cranfield University, event specialists Evolution, chartered accountants Keens Shay Keens, Milton Keynes College, Milton Keynes Development Partnership, MK Dons FC, the Open University, business advisers PwC and thecentre:mk.
 
The South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership is supporting the awards, tourism champion Destination Milton Keynes, Volkswagen Group Leasing and Palladium Solutions are sponsoring non-award activities.
 
Business MK is the official media partner.
 
Net proceeds from the awards dinner will go to a charity fund administered by Milton Keynes Community Foundation to foster business.
