Young engineers are flying high

The group took the opportunity to relax after the ceremony at the company’s training academy at London Luton Airport.

They have completed their four-year apprenticeship, achieving NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations, NVQ Level 3 in Aeronautical Engineering and EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence Category ‘A’.

Monarch Aircraft Engineering is a division of The Monarch Group. Its highly regarded apprenticeship scheme maintains its reputation within the aviation industry.

Not only does the scheme help towards the creation of jobs in the local community, it also provides an essential pipeline of skilled aircraft engineers for MAEL and the wider industry.

MAEL managing director Mick Adams said: “We are very proud to see the apprentices graduate after four years hard work where already, they have made a significant contribution to the business. From around 500 applicants who we see each year, to have secured a position on the scheme is in itself an achievement.

“These now fully trained aircraft engineers are a credit to their families, those who have worked so hard to train them, and of course Monarch Aircraft Engineering where our apprenticeship scheme is industry renowned for producing the best.”
