Workshop puts new energy regulations in the spotlight

The regulations come into force in December and will apply to businesses employing more than 250 people.

They will be required to carry out mandatory energy assessments every four years as part of the  Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme, which will be administered by the Environment Agency and launched later this year as part of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive.

Milton Keynes Council’s sustainability team, in conjunction with the Energy Club, is hosting a free workshop for employers to find out more on Wednesday June 17, 9am-noon, at the Windmill Hill Golf Centre in Bletchley.

The event is part of EU Sustainability Week, running June 15-19.

The assessments are audits of the energy used by their buildings, industrial processes and transport to identify cost-effective energy saving measure
