The councils are keen to learn about the issues facing businesses as they work to shape services that will support long-term economic growth in the area.
Following the success of a similar survey last year, Luton Borough, Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough Councils have launched an online questionnaire which covers issues such as business performance, customer base and supplier locations.
The survey, organised in conjunction with the East of England Development Agency, is being undertaken independently by BMG research.
Bedfordshire businesses are being asked to visit https://surveys.bmgresearch.co.uk/surveys/008473 and fill in the survey before 5.30pm on Monday June 20.
The three councils will also be contacting hundreds of local businesses by telephone to collect further information.
Following the completion of the survey a full report will be collated by Central Bedfordshire Council’s Economic Growth & Regeneration team and recommendations for supporting growth across the county will be put forward.
Cllr Ken Matthews (pictured), executive member for sustainable communities, strategic planning and economic development at Central Bedfordshire Council, said: "We completed a very successful survey last year which told us a lot about what businesses expected from us. Since then the economic circumstances and the central government funded support for businesses has changed significantly.
“It is important that we follow up this research with another poll to find out the impact on our local business and how things have changed. It is also another opportunity to find out exactly what businesses think of the help and support that the council is or should be offering to firms in our area to help them grow and prosper.
"Central Bedfordshire has experienced strong economic growth over the past decade and has ambitious growth plans to support at least 27,000 new jobs by 2026. The recession has had a big impact on business and Central Bedfordshire Council is listening to the concerns of those affected. The results of this survey will inform and shape how we and our partners support businesses in the future."
