Science festival seeks sponsors

The festival runs between October 17 and 31 and will comprise a series of science, engineering and technology events and activities around the city involving local schools, colleges, universities, societies and businesses.

The festival aims to enthuse young people about careers in science, technology, engineering, and maths by raising the profile of local businesses, showcasing local innovation and highlighting the contribution of science to the local economy.

The festival organisers are seeking business based in and around Milton Keynes who are interested in supporting the festival through sponsoring or co-sponsoring a particular event.

The agenda includes celebrity scientists discussing climate change, the fossil record and cancer. There are plenty of opportunities for the public to get involved including the chance to extract DNA from fruit, enter a photography competition, observe the universe, discuss climate change and its impacts, play with a volcano, be involved with the Big Draw, see the ways we can find and explore other plants, walk like a dinosaur have a go at making giant bubbles.

Festival co-ordinator Lindsey Shaw Greening said that sponsorship opportunities remain for events including a day promoting scientific careers in Milton Keynes, schools events and public debates.
