‘Midsummer Presents…’ is a monthly scheme that takes place at the college’s Chaffron Way Campus and gives students the chance to meet High Street retailers to talk about the clothes they wear, the latest trends, new lines and the companies’ ethics.
The scheme is also an opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in fashion or retail and enable them to talk one-to-one with staff from some of the biggest retailers from the UK and abroad.
Midsummer Place centre manager Martin Hindson said: “It is quite unusual for a young person to be able to spend time talking to one of their high street retailers.
"It is wonderful to have this new opportunity to show off everything that Midsummer Place has to offer and equally a great learning experience for students in the city.”
Student favourite Topshop, Topman and Miss Selfridge were the first to visit the college, where they showcased their new look store following major refurbishment. June will see GAP put its collection on show.
‘Midsummer Presents…’ takes place on thesecond Thursday of each month.
Milton Keynes College principal Dr Julie Mills said: “It is so important for students to have the chance to meet prospective employers in the city to discover what their needs are and find out about the possible careers available to them.
“Providing these sorts of opportunities to meet and engage people from companies where they might one day work is one of the areas where we feel we are offering students at Milton Keynes College real benefits alongside their courses.”
