The Sandy-based company’s building maintenance arm is the preferred bidder for a £600 million contract to repair and maintain property owned by North Tyneside Council. The contract, which is for an initial ten years, is set to join Kier’s already well-established large portfolio of local authority outsourcing work.
Kier is one of three contractors to form the East Midlands Property Alliance Intermediate Projects Partnering Framework. This £275 million four-year project is for the procurement of new build and refurbishment schemes in the region.
Kier Group’s construction division has won a £27 million contract from Network Rail to renew the roof at King’s Cross Station for Network Rail as part of the station’s £450 million upgrade.
The project also includes the repair, refurbishment and renewal of the main wrought iron structure to restore the Grade I listed building, constructed in the 1850s, to its former glory.
