Pizza group buries a slice of history

Work on the £20 milion project is well under way and is due for completion in summer next year.

Domino’s chief executive Chris Moore took the opportunity to bury a time capsule at the new site. The company’s new headquarters have been designed by Q2 architects and the lead contractors are the Buckingham Group.

Domino’s food service director Gareth Franks, said: “The project is moving forward at quite a pace and it’s great to see the building’s framework take shape. The new commissary will make a real difference to our operation and ensure that we can make the dough and store and supply all the other raw materials and equipment needed for 500 stores."

The chain plans to have 1,000 stores in the UK by 2017, he added.
