More than 1.5 million passengers travelled through the airport, many flying on the total 36 new routes opened so far this year.
The figure is a record for October as London Luton’s redevelopment nears completion.
Airport chief executive Nick Barton said: “This is an exciting time for the airport, as we continue to welcome more passengers and introduce more routes. Our transformation will only improve passengers’ journeys, making them easier and more enjoyable.”
The redevelopment will increase London Luton’s capacity to 18 million passengers a year and is key to the airport meeting increasing customer demand for air travel.
