High fuel prices have been an issue for many businesses across the country. In Milton Keynes, where our economy benefits from the activities of logistics companies, this will be a particularly important announcement.
The Milton Keynes South MP said: “I am really pleased with the Chancellor’s announcement to cancel this 3p rise. In a recent business breakfast meeting that I attended, the issue of fuel prices was raised by a number of business owners.”
“I previously lobbied the Chancellor to reconsider this rise and I am pleased that he has gone much further with a total cancellation of the fuel duty rise.”
Gary Telford, tax expert at business advisers PwC in Milton Keynes, said:"Cancelling the planned increase in fuel duty is a measure that will see small businesses breathing a sigh of relief as this will have an immediate impact on their day-to-day operations.
"The announcement will also be welcome news for working families in the region.”
