The company, which employs more than 1,300 people at eight distribution centres including Milton Keynes, has been accredited with a second Investor in Excellence standard.
Former England Rugby World Cup winning captain Martin Johnson presented Culina’s Colin Shepherd and Mark Davis with the prestigious award at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
To attain the Investor in Excellence standard, Culina Logistics had to provide clear evidence of improvement, which was independently verified, in nine areas including leadership, processes, people and customer results.
The award builds on the success from 2005, when Culina became one of the first UK logistics companies to be acknowledged for setting new standards of excellence.
Culina chief executive officer Thomas van Maurik said: “One of our aims at Culina is continuous improvement and it’s very satisfying to receive recognition for all the behind the scenes work that ensures our customers benefit from a high-quality service.
“We have introduced a company wide policy to be measurably the best logistics provider in the food and drink industry and this will only serve to spur us on to maintain our lead.â€
Investors in Excellence is a UK programme run by Midlands Excellence and helps all types of organisations improve all-round performance.
