They have won 27 contracts via the Competefor website, where businesses across the UK can apply to win contracts linked to the Games.
There could be more to come, with around £250 million worth of new contracts set to be published on the Competefor site this year.
The site is co-funded by the East of England development Agency. Its chair Will Pope (pictured) said: “London 2012 is already providing a huge boost to the economy of Bedfordshire and the wider East of England, with benefits coming before, during and long after the Games.
“We have seen a really positive response from businesses, with more than 15,000 now registered on CompeteFor. The fact that so many contracts have been won is a testament to the ambition and quality of businesses in the East.”
A total 376 London 2012-related contracts have already been awarded, worth around £53 million. Those due to be advertised this year range from the supply of podiums and costumes, to furniture and professional artists and performers.
