English Table Tennis moves to city ahead of new base at National Bowl

The organisation, which had been based in Hastings for 42 years, moved into its new headquarters in Central Milton Keynes last week.

It will employ up to 25 staff at head office, with about the same number based in regions around the country.

The ETTA will eventually move into a purpose-built sporting centre of excellence alongside Badminton England. The site near the National Bowl is scheduled to open in 2016.

Until then, the ETTA’s operations, communications, membership, coaching & performance, development and support staff will be based in Norfolk House, with new faces joining those who have moved from Hastings.

ETTA chief executive Sara Sutcliffe said: “This is a tremendously exciting time for the ETTA, from the grassroots to the elite levels of table tennis.

“The Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer will showcase England’s best players, with our men’s and women’s squads both likely to be among the favourites to win medals.

“Looking further forward, moving into a brand new state-of-the-art facility alongside Badminton England will give us an unrivalled chance to develop players and coaches at all levels of the game.

“Our mission is to enable more people to play table tennis in more venues than ever before, to support players at all levels and give them the opportunity to reach their potential, whether they are playing socially or competitively.

"This move will help us to deliver on that vision.”
