Countdown continues to MK’s business awards gala

This week, the red carpet was rolled out at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at stadiummk, the venue for the black tie MKBAA event being held on March 20 and hosted by BBC presenter Bill Turnbull.

Guests at the monthly City Breakfast Club business networking event were given the lobbying treatment – movie mogul-style – by Business Achievement Awards’ ‘co-director’, Nicholas Mann of full service agency Interdirect.

Interdirect is supporting the awards with Milton Keynes Business Leaders Partnership.

MKBLP chairman Philip Smith said: “These awards are for local businesses and we hope they will come forward to share their achievements.”

Mr Mann said: “Everyone loves success and the Business Achievement Awards will recognise the epic contribution of business in the MK postcode area to the regional economy.

“But, unlike awards in the film industry where the best movies and movie people are nominated by a committee, with the MK Business Achievement Awards you have to enter yourself.

“To have a chance of hearing the name of your business after the words ‘and the winner is…’ get your entry in soon,” Nicholas said.

Entries should be with organisers by February 16  and they can be submitted easily online at www.mkbaa.co.uk – where all entry details and information to book a table or individual seats can be found.

Major Milton Keynes businesses have been secured as the awards’ sponsors.

Shakespeares Solicitors, University Campus Milton Keynes and The Casino MK are headline sponsors, with SEMLEP as general sponsor and DHL, MK Dons, MK Development Partnership, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cranfield University, Milton Keynes College, Evolution, Keens Shay Keens MK, thecentre:mk, and The Open University as award category sponsors.

Destination Milton Keynes, Volkswagen Group Leasing and Palladium Solutions are sponsoring non-award activities and Business MK is the media partner.

Net proceeds from the awards dinner on March 20 will go to a charity fund administered by Milton Keynes Community Foundation to foster business.
