The casino, which will be the largest outside London when it opens in September, has chosen the designs of 18-year-old Stephanie Czoboriek. Her creation pictured was praised by casino operator Aspers chairman Damian Aspinall.
Essential adjustments will now be made so the outfits are practical for day-to-day wear by the casino’s 250 staff.
Carolyne Hirsch, managing director of John Marks Uniforms said “Stephanie and some of her fellow students came to visit and experience a working factory. We also gave her the opportunity to try on the croupier’s dress she had designed and understand the adaptations we had made to it.
"They were really excited and thrilled to see the finished product.”
The students’ fashion and clothing lecturer Hilary Hutchinson said that the competition and visit to the John Marks Uniform factory was a huge boost to the students’ future careers.
“It was really amazing to visit the studio and see Stephanie’s designs made into an entire collection,” she said. “The students have been given an invaluable first-hand experience to work as professional designers for a real client.
“We were also lucky enough to visit the factory where many of the garments will be made, and see the entire production process. An opportunity such as this is invaluable to aspiring designers and will be a massive boost to their CVs.”
The Casino MK has developed a close relationship with Milton Keynes College since its arrival was first announced six years ago.
General manager Nigel Hartland said: “They created some fantastic designs which they should be proud of. Stephanie’s winning design has been used to inspire the new uniform which our staff will be wearing when the casino opens.
“We fully intend to continue working in partnership with the College and offering opportunities to the next generation in Milton Keynes.”
