Business to have its say on plans for Dunstable’s future

Central Bedfordshire Council has formulated plans to increase business opportunity and improve the environment for the community of Dunstable and Houghton Regis.

It says business is key to future success for the area and has urged companies to have their say at the Dunstable: The Vision for the Future event, to be held at The Old Palace Lodge Hotel in Church Street on May 3.

The plans include areas such as transport, jobs and town centre regeneration and have been backed by Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber chief executive Cheryl Smart (pictured) said: “The British Chambers of Commerce campaign this year is ‘Business is good for Britain’. We know business is good for Dunstable too which is why it is essential business is at the centre of the decision-making process.

“Any business that has a stake in Dunstable and wants to see the area thrive needs to come to this event.”

Chamber chairman Brian Hibbert and Cllr Nigel Young, deputy executive member for sustainable communities at Central Bedfordshire Council, will speak before taking part in a question and answer session.

The event begins at 6pm in the hotel’s Henry’s Restaurant. To book a place, contact Paula Devine at the Chamber on 01582 522316 or e-mail events@chamber-business.com
