Borough hosts enterprise fair

The event will take place on May 18 between 11am and 3pm,  using the market stalls on St Paul’s Square.

Targeted primarily at those who are unemployed and not in education or training, advice will be available from a range of organisations as the fair brings together local partners, organisations and businesses to offer enterprise support, paid jobs and voluntary opportunities to local people.

Bedford Mayor Dave Hodgson, said: “Getting people back into jobs and helping businesses’ to succeed is a vital component of helping us to grow our local economy. Whatever position people find themselves in, we are inviting them to come and explore the range of options available, as they consider their next steps.

“Bedford Borough’s business potential is better than ever, and we are in an excellent position for growth in the future. Job growth is ahead of target,  ahead of national and the East of England picture.”

The fair is taking place during ‘Adult Learners Week’. Organisations confirmed to be available on the day include:
Bedford Borough Council, Job Centre +, The Voluntary & Community Service, Business Link, HMRC, Evolve Recruitment (agency), Bedforshire & Luton Fire & Rescue Service, The Royal Navy, Allied Healthcare, 0-19 services, Connexions, Social Enterprise East of England, BSEN, Exemplas, Wenta & Princes Trust.
