Accountants set £50,000 fundraising target as golden anniversary celebrations begin

To mark the milestone, staff at the Luton firm have set themselves the target of raising £50,000 for local charities during the anniversary year.

The company has offered to match fund the total raised during the year and the total will be distributed among local charities nominated by staff and clients.

Director Paul Buthrey said: “We are delighted to be celebrating this amazing milestone of 50 years as a local business. At the heart of what we do are our staff and our clients, many of whom have been with us decades.”

Founding partner John Kingham set up the practice at his then-home in Luton and was joined by fellow partner Malcolm Foxley at the end of 1968.

Since then Foxley Kingham has grown to a practice of five directors, more than 50 staff and over 1,000 clients across Bedfordshire and the South East region.

Mr Kingham, who is now retired, said: “Congratulations to everyone at Foxley Kingham. I am incredibly proud of your achievements and how the company has flourished over a 50-year period.

"The same ethic with which Malcolm Foxley and I established the company still holds true: if you give a good service to people, and treat them in the way you would like to be treated then they will appreciate this and stay with you for the long term.”

Staff have already planned a series of fundraising events ranging from wine tastings to 10km runs, bake-offs to sky diving.

Mr Bithrey said: “We applaud their efforts to raise money to help those in need in our local area.”

Foxley Kingham specialises in sectors including charities and not-for-profit organisations, GP practices, other professional practices, property and construction, and manufacturing and engineering.

Mr Bithrey said: “We have always striven to understand and anticipate each client’s requirements and give focused and practical advice, to be an extension of their own company.”
