Accountancy firm sold in deal worth up to £7m

Independent financial advice firm Boyd Coughlan, based in Buckingham, has been bought by Midlands pensions wealth management specialist Mattioli Woods plc in an initial £4.5 million deal that could rise to £7 million in two years.

Accountancy and business advisory firm MHA MacIntyre Hudson’s Milton Keynes office has merged with the Folkestone office of chartered accountants Spain & Co.

The deal is part of MHA MacIntyre Hudson’s ambition to become a UK-wide practice, said a spoeksman.

Wealth managers Succession Group has paid £2.9 million to acquire Northampton-based independent financial advisory firm DNG Financial Solutions.

The deal is Succession’s 14th buyout towards its ultimate goal of acquiring 50 firms by 2018.

Ingram Micro Inc, the California-headquartered acquired IT wholesale distributor with an office in Milton Keynes, has completed the purchase of electronic product recycler CANAI (Europe) Ltd.

In the energy sector, a sizeable transaction came as NextEnergy Solar Fund Ltd, a Guernsey-based investor in a diversified portfolio of photovoltaic assets in the UK, agreed to acquire the Special Purpose Vehicle which owns Wellingborough solar power plant, which generates 8.5MWp of electricity, for £10.9 million.

Inifinis Energy plc, a Northampton-based generator of renewable power, acquired the 18.5MW Blue Sky Forest Wind Farm in Widdrington, Northumberland, with its first power generation expected in June next year.
