Pizza giant plans new headquarters

Milton Keynes Partnership and the pizza delivery giant have signed a building lease to create a purpose-built headquarters and production warehouse.

The new facility will be around 141,000 sq ft, built to the highest environmental standards and will be home to a state-of-the-art commissary. That will provide fresh dough and pizza ingredients to more than 500 Domino’s stores.

The building is due for completion in 2010.

Domino’s director of food service Gareth Franks said: “Once completed, the new facility will be unlike anything in the global Domino’s system. The purchase of the land in West Ashlands marks a key development in our expansion plans and will be essential to our target of reaching 1,000 stores by 2017”

Milton Keynes Partnership projects director Tim Roxburgh said: “This is great news for Milton Keynes, showing the confidence that major companies have in the city. Despite the difficult market conditions that are being experienced nationally, Milton Keynes remains one of the most attractive places for business in the South East”
