Architects seal contracts for Aldi expansion

The retailer has embarked on a significant expansion programme and The Harris Partnership, based at Newport Pagnell, has major Aldi contracts forecast beyond 2010.

The architects are already retained build architect for 17 extensions on Aldi’s retail outlets due by next year and a further five by 2011.

Harris Partnership director Gary Humphreys said: “The continual working relationship with Aldi is one that we value considerably. This last group of instructions is just part of the larger picture for the on-going work that we have with the discount chain across several areas of the UK.

“Having the security of further work from a national chain is great news. We will be using our extensive knowledge of Aldi’s requirements and the retail market to deliver high-quality, modern and convenient shopping environments.”

Aldi property director Roland Stanley said: “The Harris Partnership has built up a very good understanding of the Aldi brand and the market in which we operate.

"The designs they create for both new and existing stores respond successfully to both the design brief and the local environment. They help us to create the kind of stores that remain attractive to our broad customer base.”
