Organisers hail success of town trade fair

The Get Connected in Leighton spring trade fair included an exhibition of 29 stands, speakers and scores of visitors at Brooklands Middle School.

Keynote speaker Brian McKay, director supply chain of Leighton Buzzard-based logistics company Polar Speed, outlined the reasons why the company had opted to remain in the town.

He praised Leighton Buzzard as a location and the quality and energy of the local workforce.

The event also heard assessments of business prospects locally and nationally from Bedfordshire & Luton Chamber of Commerce chairman Brian Hibbert (pictured) and from Steve Hughes, a senior executive at the British Chambers of Commerce.

Get Connected in Leighton was organised by networking group LB Connect and sponsored by the Bedfordshire & Luton Chamber. LB Connect chairman Bob Chandler said: “We achieved all our objectives for LB Connect and Leighton’s business community.”
