Networkers mark International Women’s Day

Businesswoman Ruth Badger (pictured), a former contender on the TV show the Apprentice, joined around 200 Bedfordshire networkers to celebrate International Women’s Day.

She was guest of honour at the lunch and exhibition organised by networking group Bedfordshire Businesswomen and told her audience how she gave up a £125,000 a year directorship of a £22 million turnover company in order to take part in The Apprentice.

“I learned that business is about more than money,” she told her audience over lunch at Shuttleworth College, Old Warden. “It is about relationships and ever since I have been applying that knowledge to help small companies succeed.”

After appearing on the show six years ago, Ruth went on to work for Lord Sugar. Since then, she has advised hundreds of entrepreneurs.

The International Women’s Day event was sponsored by Bedford College and took place in a marquee at Russell Hall at the college’s Shuttleworth campus in Old Warden Park.
