Motor group adds to portfolio

The acquisitions extend the group’s portfolio of prestige German marques which already includes Audi and Volkswagen.

It has taken on the franchises, both based at Kingston, from Stratstone.

Wayside Group chief executive officer Richard Forman said the addition of the franchises was part of the group’s expansion plans. He added: “These are very exciting times. Both BMW and Mini are superb quality products which bring a new dimension to the Wayside Group.”

The Wayside BMW and Wayside Mini dealerships would continue to offer new and used car sales, service and parts, he added.

The Wayside Group is one of the largest, and fastest-growing, independent automotive groups in the country with dealerships in Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Hertfordshire.

It owns and operates:

Five Volkswagen retail centres;
Three Audi Centres;
Two Volkswagen Commercial vehicle centres;
Fleet;
Leasing;
One of the UK’s leading bodyshops.
