Law firm’s delight as investment generates rise in profit and turnover

Geraint Davies, chairperson at Howes Percival Solicitors.

LAW firm Howes Percival has reported a turnover increase of 10% on a pro-rata 12-month basis in 2024, according to its latest annual results.

Howes Percival, which has an office in Knowlhill in Milton Keynes, posted turnover of £31.4 million for the 11 months to March 31 this year.

The result follows a period of sustained growth, which included a double-digit turnover increase in 2023.

The firm has created more than 50 new roles in the last two years and increased the number of partners to 63, alongside investments in IT and office infrastructure, as part of its ongoing investment and growth plan.

Plans are in place to continue recruiting across all seven offices, including partners, solicitors and support roles.

Howes Percival’s chairperson Geraint Davies said: “We are absolutely delighted with the firm’s performance in 2024, highlighted by another double-digit increase in turnover.

“Profits are up 4% on a pro-rata basis, which reflects our significant  and ongoing reinvestment back into the firm so that we can continuously improve the services we provide to our clients.”

The last 12 months have seen a new Howes Percival office opening in Oxford and growth in new instructions, he added.

“We are increasingly viewed as a go-to firm in all our key markets and are seeing ongoing success in terms of attracting the best legal talent to join us.”

Howes Percival has moved its traditional company year-end from April 30 in response to tax changes.

Earlier this month, Howes Percival was ranked in the ‘Best Companies to Work For’ list for the fifth year running and awarded the highest level of accreditation for ‘world class’ levels of workplace engagement. The list celebrates excellence in workplace engagement and is widely acknowledged as the most searching and extensive research into employee engagement carried out in the UK.
