Partnership names new chief executive

Mr Lewis (pictured), who has been English Partnerships’ regional director for the East of England and Milton Keynes since 2006, succeeds Jane Hamilton who retires at the end of this month.

He has worked in Milton Keynes for the past ten years.

Mr Lewis said: “Milton Keynes is at a very crucial stage of its development, there has been an extensive period of planning and we are now going to focus on delivering those plans. I am excited to have the opportunity to be so directly involved and look forward to working in partnership across the city to deliver a Milton Keynes of which we can all be proud.”

Milton Keynes Partnership Committee member Dr Ann Limb said: “On behalf of Milton Keynes Partnership Committee we are delighted with the appointment of John Lewis as chief executive. With his local knowledge and evident commitment to partnership working, Milton Keynes will be able to grow and develop effectively in the future. MKPC is looking forward to delivering its exciting agenda.”

Over the past three years Milton Keynes Partnership has established itself as the Local Delivery Vehicle for Milton Keynes. A MKP spokesman said the appointment of Mr Lewis would strengthen the management structure and reinforce MKP’s commitment to developing “a vibrant and dynamic city.”
