Advisers hint at ‘another golden year’ for Buckinghamshire businesses

Aug 18, 2014

The Buckinghamshire Limited report takes a detailed look at the performance of the county’s 100 largest independent businesses, selected on turnover and trading address, to provide a comprehensive health check of Buckinghamshire’s overall economy.

Using the latest accounts available, the study includes details such as company turnover, operating profit and employment figures, plus a breakdown of the financial data by sector.

Grant Thornton’s inaugural Buckinghamshire Limited 2013 report revealed a stellar performance from the county’s businesses, with a notable 8% rise in employment on the previous year.

Grant Thornton director Mike Hughes said: “We are seeing all the signs to indicate that Buckinghamshire has had another golden year and is outclassing neighbouring counties in business performance, demonstrating the strength and continued growth of local businesses.”

The 2014 results will be announced next month at stadiummk to many of the county’s top business leaders. Mr Hughes and fellow Grant Thornton director Giles Mullins (both pictured) are preparing their  overview of how the local business community has fared over the past 12 months, as well as insights into the performance of  key sectors across the county.
